This cable has the RJ12 (6 pin telephone style plug) that connects to the microphone socket in the front of the radio.

Software (Not supplied) is available on the internet, please note some of these version may not work with later Windows Operating systems.

RS232
This cable has an RS232 IC built-in to the cable and thus requires a serial connection on your computer. If you don't have a serial port you can use a USB to serial converter.
USB TO SERIAL CONVERTER
BEWARE - NOT ALL USB to serial converters operate with GME software.
To purchase a USB to serial converter that has been proven to operate with GME software please search eBay for USB4RADIOS. This cable is a little more expensive than most, BUT it works!

WARRANTY
If you are unable to program the radio (eg. you get an error message while trying to program) We are happy to replace the cable with in 7 days of delivery.
Please note: We test all cables before posting out to our customers, so if there is a problem it is usually to do with your computer or software. But for your satisfaction we will replace it providing you return the cable first so we can check it.
TIPS
Some tips to try if you have problems programming:

Try running the software in "Compatibility Mode", (eg.WIN95)

Make sure you select the correct "Port" that the cable is connected to.

Make sure the serial port is either COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4. (Device Manager/Ports).

Radio must be powered ON.
